Suggestion: Add visible but neutral (non-correct) hotspot behavior in "Find Multiple Hotspots"
Hello,
When creating content with Find Multiple Hotspots, only the hotspots marked as “Correct” trigger user feedback or are included in the final score. However, if a hotspot is created without checking “Correct”, it becomes essentially invisible to the player:
It does not respond to clicks (no visual or audio feedback),
It does not show any message,
It is excluded from scoring.
This behavior can be confusing for learners. From the content creator's perspective, it would be useful to have a third option: a visible, clickable hotspot that is neutral (neither correct nor incorrect), with optional feedback but excluded from scoring.
Suggested enhancement:
Add a “Neutral” status for hotspots.
Allow creators to attach feedback to it.
Display it like a regular hotspot during gameplay (e.g., outline or hover effect).
Exclude it from the scoring logic.
This would allow us to:
Design decoys or distractors with intentional feedback,
Add interactive explanations or info boxes without affecting results,
Make the activity more pedagogically rich.
Thanks for considering this suggestion!
Best regards,
Michel Rottenberg
